About the Role

Immediately looking for contract safety advisors to perform work on an several upcoming shutdowns & projects throughout Western Canada (starting early 2025). You will be expected to provide complete, thorough and professional health, safety and environmental advice, promote a positive safety culture and to anticipate / assess health and safety hazards.

Responsibilities:
Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and procedures
Conduct health and safety inspections, observations, audits, compliance monitoring and investigations on various client sites
Assist with training analysis and coordination
Assist in the development of procedures and hazard assessments
Provide leadership, guidance and advice for maintaining workplace health & safety and training compliance
Coach management and supervisory teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance
Foster and maintain positive client and SafCan Safety Solutions Ltd. operational relationships.

Requirements

  • A recognized Occupational Health and Safety designation preferred (NCSO, OH&S, CRSP, etc.)

  • Minimum of 5 years Health and Safety experience in Industrial & Project settings.

  • Strong knowledge of the Alberta Occupational Health Act, Regulation & Code

  • Familiar with Standard Injury Recordability processes and procedures

  • First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection certification would be considered an asset

  • Class 5 driver’s license with clean drivers abstract.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced understanding and skills with Microsoft 365 suite of tools is an asset.

  • Ability to learn & adapt to using electronic tools and apps (fillable PDF's, SiteDocs, WorkHub, etc.)

  • Willingness to travel & stay for extended periods in a remote camp settings.

  • As this is a contracted position You will require an active business number, GST number and WCB coverage to apply
