*Please note: Tentative schedule is 5 days on, 2 day off 8 hour shifts (Monday through Friday).

Responsibilities

*Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
*Conduct health and safety inspections, observations, audits, compliance monitoring and investigations on various client sites.
*Assist with training analysis, development and coordination.
*Assist in weekly & monthly documentation reports for our clients.
*Learn to work with and manage HSE Compliance systems such as Avetta, ISNet, Etc.
*Assist in the development of HSE Programs and documentation.
*Provide leadership, guidance and advice for maintaining workplace health & safety and training compliance under the guidance of our experienced consultants.
*Coach management and supervisory teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance under the guidance of our experienced consultants.
*Foster and maintain positive client and SafCan Safety Solutions Ltd. operational relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years Health and Safety experience in an industrial setting

  • Knowledge of the Alberta Occupational Health Act, Regulation & Code

  • A recognized Occupational Health and Safety designation preferred (NCSO, OH&S, etc.)

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft suite of tools & able to work extensively with a laptop.

  • Clean Class 5 driver’s license

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated & detail oriented

  • As this is an entry level full-time position (starting on a 3 month contract with option to extend based on performance)

  • Much of this position is remote working but MUST be local to the Fort McMurray, AB area.
